OLLDA's In-House Physical Therapist:

Rosalie Sanchez

Dr. Rosalie Sanchez, PT, DPT is a pediatric physical therapist specializing in performing arts medicine and youth athletes. Dr. Sanchez earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Los Angeles, CA. Like many of our students, she grew up in the studio training in classical ballet, jazz, Latin dance, Mexican folklore dance, belly dance, lyrical & contemporary. As a teenager she passed her Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing examinations with high marks and began teaching dance classes at Southbay Dance Academy & the Ballet Conservatory in San Diego. Rosalie continued her studies of movement and dance while earning her bachelor's degree at UCSD and Southwestern College, performing in various shows and choreographing for university productions. In 2013 she began working with Ooh La La Dance Academy teaching various genres, leading a competition team and began serving as the studio's head administrator. She also joined the Ooh La La Cosabellas Dance troupe (now the Ooh La La Revue) as a performer traveling the world under direction of Susie Grafte, teaching and dancing in the Maldives, Brazil & Thailand. As an adult she has continued to train as a dancer with world renowned choreographers all over Los Angeles, San Diego and New York while succeeding in prestigious clinical affiliations in hospitals such as Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego.

Throughout her educational and dance career she has volunteered with the Pomona Health Careers Ladder providing health education to children in the local school districts, conducted research working with preschool aged students at UCSD, and now travels to Mexico to volunteer with an organization providing pediatric physical therapy care at the Hopspital Infantil de las Californias. Her passion for serving youth combined with her background as a dancer/athlete and education in movement medicine gives her a unique perspective to truly understand the needs of a dancer's body. She is passionate about promoting safe and healthy movement to prevent injury and to keep dancers on the stage. Best of all, she comes to YOU! Dr. Sanchez, PT, DPT runs a mobile practice providing care in home and in the studio for the connivence of the athletes and their families. She is back at Ooh La La and is excited to help our dancers stay healthy!
